Then came February...my birthday(I'm 27...eek!) and Valentine's Day. Nothing huge happened in February really, other than a really awesome offer from my dad. My dad is an incredibly generous person and he knows what it's like to struggle when you are just starting out. Both he and my mom realize that we are doing everything that we can to start ourselves off on the right foot and that we are not loving the whole paying-rent-for-an-apartment thing. We live in Germantown, a nice little place with almost everything we need within a short drive but it's too far from the Metro(James takes the Metro and a couple buses home from work three days out of the week) and traffic in the morning on my commute to work can be a bit much. So, back to my dad's offer...he has basically offered to buy us our first house. Granted, we will cover all the living costs(insurance, mortgage, maintenance, etc.) but he will help us HUGELY with the down payment and the renovations. AWESOME!
We've dreamed about owning our own home and now that the possibility is that much closer, I can hardly stand it! I've been reading up on renovations and all that fun stuff and I'm so excited about it. I'll post a few inspiration pictures that I've found on Pinterest(yep...I'm addicted!) of what we want to do with our future home and most likely fill you in on all the fun stuff that goes along with looking for a house. All I know is that my prediction of 2012 being a great year is turning out to be right so far! :)
